Autumn 2010

It's November, and already it's beginning to look as though the garden's getting ready for winter.

Still warm at 15 degrees during the day but the evenings are chilly when the sun goes down and we're lighting the fire now. Central heating still not on yet though.

Took this today with the sun shining on the oak trees.

Looking up From the Lake...

I see the house.

The veranda is south facing, and standing on it, I look down the garden to the lake which at this time of year, is just a mass of water lillies.

Into the House

As I walk down the drive this is what I see.

Once through the door I'm in a small lobby area where we hang the coats and then straight into our living room.

Towards the house.

As I go down the drive towards the house I can see the front and side of the house.

A walk down the drive.

We have electric gates with an intercom.

and as the gates open...

I can see the drive curving down towards the house, with the lake at the bottom of the garden, and between the trees, my first view of the house,

Decision Made

It occured to me that even though I'm excited about the prospect of going travelling, it really will be a wrench to leave this lovely house and I know that I'm going to miss it dreadfully. I can't imagine what it will feel like not to live here, so I've decided to keep a pictorial record of my life in Moisdon for when someone else owns our piece of Heaven.. I still can't believe that I'm going to sell it...it'll just about break my heart.

So, here's the guided tour of where I live starting at the gate.

If I look left  I see this.

My friend, Annie, lives about 200 metres up the road on the right hand side.

If I look left I see this,

There's a junction about two hundred metres away, and if I turn right, I go to our village, Moisdon la Riviere. If I go straight on I eventually come to another village, (La Touche) and if I turn left, I'm on the way to Chateaubriant, our nearest market town.
